I tried to translate the interface but qtplasmac doesn't see my langfile. This is probably a problem with my system locale?

Can you post the language file, I will make a new virtual machine for testing. You may need to add .txt to end so the forum accepts it.

I tried renaming it to qtplasmac_uk and nothing changed.

The file end needs to be the first two letters from locale, so in your case it would be qtplasmac_uk.ts

Yes indeed the .qm file was missing, now it works. Thanks Phill for the help.
Later I will try to do this in the package installation.
