hello, I'm looking for a PP alphacam for linuxcnc. I saw that you use mach3 PP for linuxcnc, I also have a 3 axis. I already know how artcam but I would like to learn Alphacam. Could you help me? Could you send me your PP? I am a real goat and I am not able to write a PP. You apologize for my written English, I am Italian and I'm not know English well. Thank you very much and sorry for the inconvenience. bye

hi
alphacam suports almost every iso standard output for HAAS Fanuc also simpo,e mashines like mach, eding,nC so just use one of them
and get the INI Sartupcode set your Basics
then you are fine of a standard use
the cycles like pocket/rec/circle will not work at all on the linuxcnc
even isoPath postprocessor of alphacam is a good way to just mill a part

Thanks a lot for the answer. I found the Alpha_Router_Posts file for mach3 in the linuxcnc forum and I would like to use it with alphacam for linuxcnc. Do I need to change something to convert a PP txt (mach3) to ngc (liunuxcnc)? I don't understand anything about PP, could you explain in simple words what exactly should I do? regards

hi you can use this post without change
only the line 27 for startup code woudt be good to have G64 P0.01 or G61 inside
But i guesed arlyer this woudt be the same to be inside INI RS232_STARTUP_code

just test it out if you arew fine with the output
some dont like the view of the gcode as opuitputed in O format
but it will run

Dear friend, I am here again. I ran a test with PP for mach3 and when I run the work on the cnc, I get an error: the program goes beyond the lower limits on the Z axis. So I used the generic PP for acam pantograph and changing the extension of the file and adding instructions the program is executed. Can you tell me what I have to change in PP mach3? Thanks. Regards

ok, I'll try to change them. But I don't understand why the cnc works with the generic PP of alphacam and that of artcam that I've always used. I would have been satisfied even to use the generic PP for acam pantograph but it is too limited, in the file the G instructions for starting and ending the program are not generated. Thanks again for your availability. I will let you know. regards
