QTdragon Style was created by harry4516
Hello,
I did a fresh install of LinuxCNC 2.8.2 Debian 10 Buster PREEMPT-RT ISO from here:
linuxcnc.org/downloads/
then I run the install script from this thread
forum.linuxcnc.org/qtvcp/38414-installing-qtvcp?start=0
then I configured it to use QTdragon as described here:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.8/html/gui/qtdragon.html
an, of course, I configured the ini file for my cnc mill.

Everything works fine, milling using Linux CNC is a dream:-)

My question is about the display style. I can see in qtdragon pictures this very nice gray shaded 3D style.
But my screen looks just flat:

what am I missing to get this nice 3d stylish display ?
I tried a fresh installation on two different PCs but the result ist the same.
Thanks, Harry

It is probably the "theme" that you have selected.

Press F12 and a style dialog should pop up. Then Open a qss file and Apply. Qtvcp comes with some predefined stylesheets that you can copy to your config folder if you want to further customize them.

thanks,
I read about F12 in the link shown by andypugh.
Nothing happens if I press F12,
but the question is:
I did a fresh install of the iso image on the Linux CNC website and followed the description above.
So, everyone doing that, should get the same result? Or does it depend on the hardware, I don't think so.
Is something missing in the ISO file or in the description, if yes, what is it?

try pressing f12 after pressing other buttons - you need to have focus on the screen for it to work.

The style you have is the default style. You must set what ever style you wish to use after it starts with the dialog that shows with f12.
There are several for qtdragon

thanks a lot for the hints.
Pressing F12 did the trick.

The problem was, my wireless keyboard has an F12 key, but nothing happend. After connecting a normal USB keyboard, F12 worked.

@stevenMentor,
Stop spaming, you get banned for that.
