ATC for ERxx type spindles, very simple and very usable was created by tommylight
>>> NOT MY STUFF <<<
Found this today, seems by far the best solution that i have seen for this type of tool changer.
From what i gather form the video, it uses a big nut with the inner size of the ERxx mounted on shafts with springs under it.

I am not sure if I would trust it ( for metal? ).
If some swarf finds its way into the thread or the spindle taper it will be bad, Might result in weird conditions.
Is the spindle threading itself into the nut? Wonder how repeatable that is.
I would not trust my spindle to be able to repeatable open the thing again. (no torque) The recommended tightening torque of ER20 is somewhere in the 60 Nm, my flimsy spindle has 12 Nm stall torque. Either you "slamm" it in and cannot get it back out or you will pull your endmill out of the chuck.
Will it require many sensors to monitor all possible faults?
I would be scared of the commissioning of that thing, compared to just getting a BT or HSK spindle.

I think it is (another)one of those horrible ideas!
Time well spent? Working at the end? I am skeptical as hack
