Is normal that with the computer off. With no voltage connected. or the board, or the machine. when I connect the analog signal cable CR7 LED is lit, and the light is half CR6? is that normal?

in the Board 7i77

thanks

No, that means you have the analog connection wired wrong (drive is reverse feeding power into analog out)

I would disconnect and verify that the 7I77 outputs still work
(unlink the analog out pins in the hal file and manuallt setp them to 0, 5V ,-5v, 10V, -10V and verify that the output voltage is correct)

Peter,

I do not understand this last part.

In your hal file you will have some lines that connect the 7I77 analog out pin to the PID output:

Like this for example:

net motor.01.command pid.1.output => hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout1

To be able to manually set the analog output voltages, you need to comment out these lines temporarily

After starting Linux CNC with the modified hal file, you manually set the analog outputs by invoking the show hal configuration menu in axis. At the bottom there is a little window to type commands into

these commands would be like

setp hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout1 5
(to set the output to 5V)

I would also check the servo drives analog inputs,
there should be no voltage output from them.

Disconnect the analog cable from the 7i77 to the drives
Open a terminal window and type the following (the tab-key will do a lot of auto-completion for you)

halrun
loadrt hostmot2
loadrt hm2_pci
loadrt threads
addf hm2_5i25.0.read thread1
addf hm2_5i25.0.write thread1
addf hm2_5i25.0.pet-watchdog thread1
start

If you type
show pin
then you will get a list of all the pins. This might be handy as I am guessing the next part as I don't have a 7i77

setp hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0 0.5
check the output voltage with a multimeter, then try other positive and negative numbers
Do the same with analogout1, 2, etc.

You can do the same thing in Machine->Show Hal Config (Halshow) but you would need to unlike the analogout pins in the HAL file first, or using unlinkp in the command box of Halshow.

Ok, thanks.

I did tests and, all are well.
0=>0
5 => 4.99
-5=>-4.99
10=> 9.97
-10=> -9.99

the strange thing is that when I turn off. in analogout01 a negative voltage of -0.35. and LED CR7 on and LED CR6 half on

what else I can do?

on Saturday I swear I did not have this problem.

.35V will not turn the LED but Ill bet you have a larger AC voltage leakage problem somewhere
(missing grounds?)

Can you measure AC voltage between 7I77 GND and servo drive GND (with all 7I77 I/O disconnected)?

Peter.

between GND 7I77 and GND drives 120 VAC

this bad?
when I put the hand on the frame of the pc, current flows.
