If your current controller is functional, why are you changing it? The reason you can't just install LinuxCNC and run is because there probably isn't drivers for the Sony hardware, and it's likely proprietary. That 100 pin connector card would go, and be replaced by a 5i25 most likely.

So what do you guys think? From what I understand, I will need a one 5i25 & one 7i77... is this correct? How do I connect to the amps? I am assuming I just splice into the amplifier cords and hard wire those into the 7i77?
Also, is there a good alternative to the 5i25 / 7i77? I notice mesa has a long wait even when they have the items in stock.
I will be getting a PC set up with LinuxCNC next week.

I ship Mesa cards immediately after they are ordered from me at mesaus.com/

I can confirm that jt is very quick shipping. Mesa would actually prefer you order from jt. I would recommend the 5i25/7i77, I couldn't find an equally well documented andstraightforward solution for analog drives when I was looking. I also recommend you find a pinout for those drives, or this process will be impossible.

I apologize! The only other site I found in the USA was mesanet.... I hope I did not cause any confusion. Thank you SO MUCH for the link. I will be ordering as soon as I confirm what I need.
I just found a manual online for the drives. YAY!
