uh oh... II never seen this amp-enable in my custom hal file !!!

No matter. Use:

I followed your advice but ... No luck.
I get an error message before averything's closing. (shown below)




The strange thing is the line concerning the port used for the VFD link USB  (S0???)
[EDIT: forget about what I said concerning ttyUSB0, I've forgotten the argument -d ]

You need -pnone (no parity)

Is custom.hal last in the list in the INI? I am wondering why we have no joint.1.amp-enable.

For simplicity you could try

setp hy_vfd.enable 1

Instead.

Parity set to none and setp hy_vfd.enable 1 added in Custom hal file
I have the below message before closure:
./custom.hal:11: parameter or pin 'hy_vfd.enable' not found

I've attched the .ini, .hal & custom.hal files
