Well, after trying for way too long to get it to work, I gave up and found a spare 22" monitor that I had sitting on a shelf that almost fit. Took a little hacking and booty fabrication, but I got it in there. Kind of bugs me because the PO custom built the console around the monitor and this one just doesn't quite fit as well, but it'll get the job done for now.

I really don't understand why this 10 year-old Dell monitor works fine but the newer Viewsonic would not.

Hey NCPatrol,
we (a friend of mine and me - first-time linux users and cnc rookies) would like to do kind of the same setup as you do for our cnc mill. After reading a few bad reviews about the ASRock J3355B-ITX I would like to hear about your experience. Is everything still running fine? Do you use the onboard video graphics? Cause the Linuxcnc documentation says there could be real-time issues with onboard graphics, any experiences about that? What other hardware do you use with it (RAM, Power supply,...)

Where does it say that? It probably isn't true any more.

Yes that information is very outdated. (8-10 years outdated) The first clue is the page is referring to using Ubuntu 8.04 (it was replace with 10.04 about 8 years ago and then by Debian 7), The 2nd clue is it is using the name EMC for the project, that was changed to Linuxcnc about 7 years ago.

Just ordered a "industrial PC with captive 12" touch screen to try out with my Mesa ethernet card.
Will be fun to se if it is up to the task.

Looks interesting. Interesting enough that I spent a minute trying to find the Core i3 version that was mentioned.

It will be interesting to see what is inside. Some of the photos showed what might be a right-angle PCIe slot.
