I've been having issues with MB2HAL and an L510 VFD rebrand. I was hoping to try VFDMOD but unfortunately, the ARM DEB package is armhf and I am using an Rpi 5.Early days for my linuxCNC'ing, but....Is it possible to repackage for arm64 from 32bit?Also thought I'd attach the wiki here just in case.

For the benefit of anyone else using the L510 (or the RS-branded RS510) VFD this component seems to work:
github.com/gitcoffey/l510_vfd
after making this change
github.com/gitcoffey/l510_vfd/pull/1
Install with
Code:
sudo halcompile --userspace --install --extra-link-args="-lm -lmodbus" l510_vfd.c

Hello!
Can anybody help me out with this step by step? (I'm not a Linux user)
I have my old setup, but i don't remember how to add Vfdmod to the LCNC, to see the pins and other.
I have now a Buster system with LCNC 2.9.7 and have a "not found file/directory Vfdmod" message.
All old links not works... How to compile it and from where and which file I have no clue...

Unfortunately Vfdmod is no longer maintained and isn't really a good option for new installs. It was a bit of a pain but I switched to mb2hal. Between the documentation and a few examples I was able to figure it out with some trial and error. I suggest switching to that.

Sorry, I am definitely not an expert in this. You can take a look at my config and the documentation here:
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/drivers/mb2hal.html
Attached is my mb2hal ini file and the spindle bits from my hal file. I am not an expert but I was able to figure it out just with the VFD manual and the documentation.
