SRT where in the hal file are you setting your counter mode? I can't seem to find that section in my HAL file?

its not counter mode but rather PWM mode (all channels) that needs to
be set to 2

something like
hm2_5I23.0.pwmgen.00.output-type 2

I see that now......My x and Z are reporting just fine to axis. I am struggling with the spindle only. I think its termanology, I cant find too much on resolvers to study.

SRT yea zip your hal and ini files and i'll take a clean look now
it will also help with Chris's resolver problem too i think ( hatch 789)
which we are working on at the moment.

we just dont seem to get any results out from the resolver apart from velocity readout
so any idea of realistc real values will help

i'm forgeting where we are with these configs LOL

The resolver interface is basically identical the encoder interface except for the word resolver instead of encoder.

yes thanks PCW
that was my understanding

just looking in hal watch and positon values are 1
velocity is jumping all over , but consistant with moving the axis

velocity (direct from the resolver is in RPS) should not have more than about 1 RPM of noise

What version and date is your LinuxCNC version? There were a number of late changes in the resolver driver.

(this is for cncbasher I'm pretty sure SRTs issues is HAL "wiring" that just needs to be traced from source to destination)

Sorry that was for cncbasher

I think in your case you need to halmeter /show the spindle velocity signal through all the wires and comps to whatever the name of the display signal is
