I can not pinpoint the exact models, but it worked for me on every Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Fujitsu i have tried those, i had 2 of 6i25, one is in daily use for several months on a Dell Optiplex 9020.
Same goes for 5i25, worked for me on the above mentioned PC's.
From motherboards, it worked on a Gigabyte X570 and an Asus B550-F.
I can test on MSI B550 Gaming Gen3, that strangely has a parallel port header and 6 PCI-E slots on a year 2021 MB!

Here is a cheap and rather UK-specific all-in-one solution.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165955792200
I have one of these as my LinuxCNC development / test PC fitted with a 6i25 and a parallel port card (and it has an onboard parallel port too). It has the best latency I have ever seen (3 figures with RTAI, around 1200 with preempt-rt)
So, it definitely works with a 6i25 and it definitely has acceptable latency. But be aware that it is not a touch-screen, if that is something you need.

I have just thought of a possible option, could anyone who is using a 6i25 with no issues, help me with which bios and what version they are using, I can then try source another pc

Hi thanks for that, I would be using a touchscreen or it would have been a good option. I have been told someone has an optiplex 9020 they are not using so hoping to get hold of that one.

I think that the screen cover (schoolboy proof) is a bit too thick for stick-on touchscreen adaptor, there would be excessive parallax, but they do exist.

It's a completely standard motherboard inside, I guess you could harvest the parts.Hi thanks for that, I would be using a touchscreen or it would have been a good option.

So, I ended up buying 2 RM one computers. 1 touchscreen i3 the other none touchscreen i5.
The i3 only has a blue pcie slot made for graphics and the 6i25 doesn’t work in that.
The i5 has the full range of pcie from x1 to x16 the 6i25 doesn’t work in any of them, just does the same as it’s always done from new which is to disable the graphic output to the monitor.
Guess my 6i25 is junk

Is the latency on the RM-ones good, at least?

If you want to send it to me (I think you are in the UK?) then I can try it in place of mine to be absolutely sure.Guess my 6i25 is junk

Not even got that far, they will not boot full stop with the card in so not taken it any further.
Think I am going to be back on Mach 3 as spending way too much time messing with this.
I am uk based so might be an idea to try the card in a know good environment.

(It's probable that the RM-One, as a school PC, will refuse to boot from the front-panel USB sockets by default)

You can run the latency test without any hardware installled. And, in fact, without installing LinuxCNC if you boot from the a USB stick. Not even got that far, they will not boot full stop with the card in so not taken it any further.

Hi
Sorry, I didn’t word my reply in the best way .
What I should have said is that with the 6i25 in place it will not complete the post process so as a result I haven’t bothered about the performance of the pc at this point.

On the off chance that I get my 6i25 working, or find a secondhand one, maybe even a 5i25, I did a quick latency test.
