A Mesa 5i25 7i77 and THCAD would take care of electronics. You need to calculate the mass of your moving parts to determine what servo / drive combo would work for you. I built a floating torch holder with a micro switch to "touch off" on the material top.

Can you explain me more about your system touch off and micro switch? Can you show me any picture? I have begun to calculate the mass.

The torch is bolted to the slide and when the tip touches the material the slide moves up a bit and touches the micro switch. The move is a probe move. If you back up one from the first link you can see the rest of the plasma info.

When you call the touchoff sub you pass the three variables to it.

(#1 pierce height, #2 pierce delay, #3 cut height)

pierce height is how high the tip should be when the arc is fired

pierce delay is how long to wait before starting the cut

cut height is cut height

All those will be in the cut charts for your torch.
