Sherline CNC Lathe - Issue with Jogging

it could be a bad connection on the direction pin for the offending axis , if this pin is not changing direction then the axis would move in the same direction regardless of the jog button used ...

it could also mean that the breakout board is faulty , or driver , but I would expect it to be a bad plug or wire broke on the axis in question
especialy if it has worked or works intermittent

why would you need to do 2 Z moves together ? where one will do ..
bad programming ?

their also fast moves between trajectory moves so you would not need or want 2 fast moves together
G0 is for moving between point to point

I understand your point, but this was just for manual testing purposes, not a written program.

Changing the PC out seems to have made the difference. Installed LinuxCNC and it is operating flawlessly.

Not sure why the Dell with 4 GB RAM and Pentium 4 processor didn't work, but it could have simply been an LPT issue. Had to use my old trusty gaming system that I built several years ago.

Thanks to all for the help!

G00 Z2
G00 Z2

The second "G00 Z2" will not make it move.

And it shouldn't, as the axis should already be at position 2 as a result of the previous move.
(unless you have set G91 incremental move mode)
