hi
you may go with the new MASTER relese
at www.linuxcnc.org/testing-stretch-rtpreempt/
use the ((( 1.3 GB ))) DVD file
linuxcnc-stretch-uspace-amd64-r13.iso

IF YOU ALREDY GOT STRETCH Debian 9 Running use the BUILDBOT to update to master
buildbot.linuxcnc.org/

then follow tutorial

wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?EtherCatDriver

Now he needs actual commands to test the motors, but i can not help there, maybe Grotius or some other forum member can help.

Cheng,

First off all welcome to the LinuxCNC forum !
I see you are a new member, living in Hongkong?

I have successfully installed igh-ethercat and detected slaves but I don't know how to make the slave station motor turn.
You did not use and try any C code example i see wich is provided by Etherlab.

I wish
Do you want to use Linuxcnc to turn your motor?
Or do you want to turn your motor with C or C++ code?
What needs your application?

He already has everything installed and running properly.
Haha. So far so good.

pl7i92
?
He can use .so or .ko kernel insmod's. He don't need a update.
Ethercat works for 32 and 64 bit, just for info.

thanks Grotius .I live in Guangzhou now. Do you know Guangzhou? It is next to Hong Kong. I want to learn how to use LinuxCNC to control the motor. I don't know what to do. Maybe I need to write .hal .xml .ini file.

I am going to find an example of C code in Etherlab.

Nice Cheng.

I want to learn how to use LinuxCNC to control the motor.
Oke that's fine !

I am going to find an example of C code in Etherlab.
It's important you play a bit in the Etherlab source code. There is one example provided (included) that is basic enough to investegate.

I have a question. Is your system 32 or 64 bit? You can read a bit about .ko and .so kernel modules.
32 bit uses .ko modules. 64 bit uses .so modules.

The installation of 32 bit is quite easy to do. The 64 bit installation is more difficult.

What kind of ethercat slave do you have? Is it a Beckhoff?

Thank you. Do you know any other command about LinuxCNC? For example, use
linuxcnc
to open the graphical interface.

I turned on an example from the system, and it worked fine on the PC, but my motor was still quiet.
