ultimately the same for lathe tools too.

Also there are MANY shapes for lathe.

Here are some very simple ideas - like I said hard to find good examples.
Idea is that at a quick glance you could confirm the basic tool.
tap, end mill, ball mill, face mill, drill, probe

Commercial controls often use a very simplified line drawing maybe with a couple colors.
The fist sample I posted was drawn by someone for pyqtvcp I believe very nice but looks like a lot of work!

For lathes, the basics are boring, turning left and right , facing, parting, profiling, drilling

I'm starting to feel like I've asked for a lot.... feel free to say so.
If we get a start on a 'style' then we could add to it in the future if others would like to help.
