Yes, I have seen probably all linuxcnc videos on youtube :)
I was hoping that after two years, technology has advanced so much, that it should be possible to run 8kHz again.

check out latest overnight tests (with internet disconnected - no usb wifi adapter or ethernet connection):

But I am trying to run 8kHz thread to match with my Delta B3 EtherCAT cycle time.

Should be doable, i did 4kHz easily, so give this a try on a fresh install:

Let me know how it went. Maybe we can compare hardware and do the same tests.
I have bought PS2 keyboard and mouse on saturday.
I was thinking about getting non-ecc unbuffered RAM, but now when I think about it, I dont have bad latency. The only problem is ad hoc latency spike, which will probably not be solved by faster RAM..

Overnight test with disconnected internet and using new ps2 peripherals ended up with one minor 29us spike

Is there a way to trace it?
Is it worth to worry about it?

Should not cause issues, move on to making chips. :)

Is it worth to worry about it?

"FAIL/PASS" post processes on the manufactured part is more effective than tracing linux and electrons randomness - read cosmic ray, secondary radiation causing bit flips, voltage drops or spikes and/or thermal endlessnonsense. Indeed a concern however unworthy (imho)...
