The GUI has no effect on the limit switches that I am aware of, I think it may be a coincidence that it shows up after an update. I am also not aware of any other recent updates that could cause this issue.
The display "lightening" is normal, when you press the OHMIC TEST button then quite a few widgets will be toggled to disabled and they will change colour to whatever colour you have for Disabled in the GUI SETTINGS frame of the SETTINGS tab.

It definitely works here, are you sure there is not a problem with your table ground?

Yes sir the table is cabled in the same manor each time I use it. With seeing the signal in Hal Show that proves it is wired correctly. I tried to show that in the video but it is a poor video as it changes brightness. In the last half I show the signal changing in Hal but the ohmic test/ohmic LED does not act as it should.
Thanks for replying this has been a very frustration time. I have used other software and electronics on other table but this LinuxCNC is the most trying. I'm sure once things are worked out I should be very nice to use.

If you do a probe test does the ohmic led light?

I did not do a probe test because the ohmic test did not work. I use the Ohmic test before I try a G-code to be sure the tip and metal are clean, maybe an OCD thing for me. I did have the ohmic probe selected, I can give that a try in the morning.
I assume there is not way to go back to the older version.

I think that you should try a probe test first to see if ohmic is working.
We have done no work that affects ohmic, I have no issues with it here on my table.
Do you have a float switch as well?

It is not OCD, that is what ohmic test was originally designed for.I use the Ohmic test before I try a G-code to be sure the tip and metal are clean, maybe an OCD thing for me.

OK, when you do a probe test make sure the ohmic led lights rather than the float led. If it is too quick to see which one lights then bypass the float switch.Yes sir both float and break away micro switches
