Need help with Linux 2.5 on a CNC lathe was created by Groovecooper1
Hello! I’m having some issues with my CNC lathe that is operating on Linux 2.5. It’s a wood lathe with 6 axis wheels. Right now it’s not allowing me to ‘Home’ it. If there is somebody in this group that I can speak with I would appreciate the assistance. Thank you!

Has it ever worked?
Why LinuxCNC 2.5? That's really rather old.

Yes that beautiful thing has been moved around to different places and has grooved well over 10,000 pairs of drumsticks (200k+ in gross sales) in nine years with no issues. Never had a problem with the software or anything until just recently. I know it’s an old version but it’s always worked. It’s just having a few issues. I may need to just upgrade the whole thing and start from square one.

I would not, unless it is really required.I may need to just upgrade the whole thing and start from square one.

So, does it not respond to the home button? Is the home button greyed out?
Does it jog? Are the motors locked or free?

Yes, the machine is on, it jogs and the icon for homing is grayed out, when I get to my shop next week I will upload pictures. Absolutely appreciate you guys are really awesome. Super helpful and responsive! Much appreciated! If there’s anyone in this forum that is for hire, let’s talk.

I can be found everywhere, if you know where to look, but i do not think you need that, yet, this should be fairly easy to figure out.
