Hi, im new to linux, I am having some problems getting up and running which linuxcnc 2.9 on debian 11. I am having problems communicating with the mesa cards however I can ping and mesaflash ok. On the 7I92 it appears ok when machine is first turned on however a red light cr6 appears when linuxcnc is opened. it will open however i dont think there is any communication with the board there are no encoder reading.I have attached some files perhaps someone who knows alot more than me can help!

I'll let PCW elaborate but this seems to be the error

hm2/hm2_7i92.0: error finishing read! iter=444

This means the board did not get everything done in one servo thread cycle and is related to the NIC on your PC or there is inadequate 5V power on the card. So it shut down.

If its an intel NIC chipset, irq_coalesence my help ref:

Yes, looks like Ethernet latency issues.

As rodw says, if you have a Intel MAC make sure you have IRQ coalescing turned off.

Also run a regular latency test to verify that your host PC latency is acceptable:

latency-histogram --nobase --sbinsize 1000
