I ran my web server on a VPS for years just with SSH. Towards the end I paid for a supported server with cpanel as I had a couple sites I hosted.
Then I moved to a .AU based cloud based system called neto which has been purchased by Canadian based Maropost. They kind of lost their way and I moved to a bespoke system featuring Magento and Odoo ERP tightly integrated with a shipping system. I designed and had coded a driverless clientless Direct printing addon to Odoo (which is Python). Odoo sends print jobs direct to our output devices and we use barcode scanners for picking so our efficiencies are amazing. We are hosted on a serious cluster in a guys bedroom (he spent $140k on hardware) and have multiple server instances for redundancy. I leave that to him and stick to the ideas!

Wow! I just run a few servers on DigitalOcean or Raspberry Pis lol.
