Wouldn't that be an application that ball bearings and math can be used.

I think andysmachines on youtube covered that when he was talking about DIY ballscrews & nuts.

Then we have a situation where some people believe what is contrary to science and create rules that do not allow you to question the belief.

Possibly. It could also be a thing of group control was mainly done through mainstream TV and news papers during the 90's to
2010. When that was no longer the main source of getting information " They " switched to the internet. It has been the same song
and dance for millennia  It has gone from Harolds, to Religion, to News, to Internet. Anytime there was a medium for people to
get information to gain clarity the powers that should never be hurry to jump on the band wagon to muddy the water back up
and tell everyone that the only source of reliable info is through " Them ".
A good book I had found on the subject is ' The Crowd a Study of the Popular Mind ' by Gustave Le Bon the original was published
in 1896. Not much has changed since then either. And probably never will.

People with low education = easy to control
People with high education = not easy to control
Quote from a historian i am pretty sure was/is British : If you want to delete a nation/culture/people, destroy their monuments
Tesla, the real one not this elon prick, : Only a fool makes the same mistake twice
Einstein : universe and human stupidity have no boundaries
Someone on the internet : nothing is foolproof to a talented fool
Me personally : How the hell did we end up in a world run by really, really dumb humans???
Again me personally : There is no humanity left in humans, they just look like humans.
Thomas Jefferson : anyone capable of deciding about his people on the spot- should be shot in public << referring to presidents and government, and the fact those things need time to think through
...

Actually highly educated can be easily controlled as well. Would you like being told everything you've thought to be true is wrong. Would you like to be thinking in a way that would get you ridiculed .....even cancelled in this current climate ?

I don't think education is the full story, it's whether you want to take the time to look into things and question common beliefs. Being inquisitive is the key.

There's also the thing about wanting to fit in as well, many people want to fit in, I guess that comes down to human nature. Just because there's a consensus doesn't mean it's so.

By all metrics I'm classed as lowly educated.

You are right about educated people, but at some point they stop and fight back, and if history is a frame of reference, almost always to late. :)
As for you, i do not agree at all, just your knowledge of computers sets you way above the "medium".

What worries me about when the educated fight back it's the young & healthy that pay the price.

I'm curious, always have been, mum tells a story about when I was 3 I managed to dismantle a lock and go for a walk to the shops with the dog in tow.
I was lucky my grandfather could do almost anything with his hands, and as young kids are they always want to be like their hero.

Damn it, it just occurred to me i have forgotten another "internet hippie dumb f@kery", this:
See if you can actually find what CAN bus stands for ...
And before you come back here all happy, it is wrong! :)

Went as bit through this, "Unknown" raised a point of Billion with 9 and 12 zeros, missed that, we had it 12 zeros all eternity, but i recall vividly some 6 years back arguing with an older friend who insisted we had 9 always, despite 4 people telling him we had 12. He also insists he knows electronics, yet he always wires optocouplers to the ground, both the diode and the transistor!!! :)

No one can seem to agree on anything.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billion

I suppose the lower number of zeros lets you be a billionaire quicker. hahaha

Yeah I've seen that optocoupler thing quite a few times in schematics.

I'm going to put my hand up for dumbness.

Designed a PCB using 0603 caps & resistors........stupid me didn't change the pad size to suit hand soldering. Luckily it was only like $6 or $7 dollar mistake.

Thought about building a PnP machine......last thing I need is another side project.
