Using ngcgui with axis

Having learnt some of my mistakes from help given here I have rebooted my whole system and manged to get EMC2 to work correctly as soon as reloaded.
I have tried to integrate ngcgui with it following instructions on the site to copy files to new locations and amend DISPLAY in the ini file. All appeared to go well and I can find the correct files such as gosper.ngc.
When I try to load it I get message

no % sign or end of program

although the file appears to be in the window underneath AXIS.
What am I doing wrong

Hello John,

EMC is looking for a end of program such as "M2"

ngcgui will add it to the file when you run ngcgui and ...

Create feature

Then

Finalize.

Did you perhaps just load the gosper.ngc as you would a normal file?
If you just want load the gosper.ngc to try it edit it and add "M2" as the last line.

Take another look at the ngcgui instructions for starting, running and even embedding ngcgui to get the full benefits of the program. I wonder if it is possible you just missed a step.

Rick,

The instructions I am following were from a discussion on the forum some time ago and involved copying files to the nc directory and also altering the ini file .

When I say the program is in the window under AXIS I can see the actual code from gosper, not any generated gcode.

I loaded EMC and then opened the gosper.ngc file, Is that correct. the instructions I had show how to set up files but don't mention running anything such as ngcgui before using it as an embedded function. Can you point me to the instructions you would recommend
many thanks
John

EDIT I have added the file I was using as instructions

I wonder whether I have completely misunderstood ngcgui.
I have tried to embed it by following instructions on where to move files and amend ini and then expected to be able to load one of the subroutine files such as gosper and expected a tab to come up so I could input parameters.
Is there another program I need to run, people talk about Finalise as though I need to go through some sort of compilation process.

To use a subroutine you load it in your ini like

NGCGUI_SUBFILE = /home/john/emc2/nc_files/gosper.ngc

When you start Axis the gosper tab will show up. Then you fill in the blanks for your subroutine and press the Create Feature button. Once all sub's have had the features created you press the Finalize button. That concatenates all the features in the order you have placed them into one file and loads it into Axis.

John,
I see that is my problem, no additional tabs are opening. Have attached copy of my amended ini file. Have I done that correctly

That looks fine so long as your user name is john and you have placed the ngc files in the nc_files directory. Do you get an warning about something when you start axis?

You might need the space after 10 in this line... not sure.

NGCGUI_FONT = Courier -10 normal
