Might be more Linux/PC related than PathPilot related

What kernel version and what PC hardware do you have?

I know that some of the newer Intel CPUs have trouble with older
kernels unless you disable the video power management

Whay is you actual kernel version? ( uname -a will report this )

Check the mainboard BIOS for screen blanking, timeouts, and power saving options. Disable everything.

I thought I had turned off ALL power saving features but I will double check.

Just a note but when it freezes teh screen the MOUSE still works but the keyboard does not. You cannot hotkey any features and them work.

Well it still locks up from time to time IF idle BUT if I get out of PathPilot and go to teh linux control panel(gnome ??) I left it run there for overnight and up to noon the next day and it was still functional. The problem seems to be with PathPilot ??
