There should be a section in the docs I put up there about restoring a previously-working config.  It's as easy as extracting the backup file, and copying the right folder to your new config folder, or creating it if it does not exist.

You also have to create the a new symbolic link, but that's covered in the doc too.

Alternatively, you could just re-run pncconf and use all of your previous settings which will create you a new folder, config, links, etc.

Yeah i have tried twice, the docs are very detailed, two thumbs up on the work put into it.
I am just going to re-run pcconf and fill with my previous config. No biggie.
I am sure my issue is user related, as everything else in the guide was spot-on.

Actually 3rd time was a charm...Cleared out the config folder, deleted the launcher, my backup and started over fresh from that point and it all went smooth. Maybe my backup caught a glitch while unzipping or my fat fingers hit a wrong key, no idea....

Now to see if my original issue fixed itself or not.

Thanks for the distro and the docs!

When do you get the error?

If it is in the beginning of the cut, try increasing the arc_ok debounce delay in the custom.hal file from 5mS to 10mS.

If it is at the end of the cut, you could set the lost arc delay by adding this code to your custom.hal file (which would set it to 0.1s):
setp plasmac.arc-lost-delay 0.1

Reference for the lost arc delay in case you want it:

linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/plasma/qtpl...html#_lost_arc_delay

Of course, I should mention that the above assumes your piece height has been calibrated using probe test, and you're using the appropriate pierce height, cut height, feed rate, amperage, gas pressure, etc...

First cut piece everything is perfect, moves to 2nd piece +, it will touch off rise to fire height pause a second & return home ( this is where i get the error).

Will add some arc_ok debounce to it and see.
