On the first screenshot, the commands I entered are visible. The error appears when you enter commands again for any axis, for example G0 Y56, G0 Y25, and you will see the return of the tool along the axis.

Maybe I don't understand.
If I start at Y0 then
G0 X56
The axis moves positively to X56 then
G0 X25
The axis moves negatively back to X25
This is what I expected.
Is this what you mean?

i see in the picture, you have the DRO set in absolute mode rather then relative.
Maybe this makes a difference for you.
