The arm can only go CW from the home position to the holder, and can only go CCW from the holder to the home position, so both way are needed. The swap of the tools can be done CW or CCW.

They are a lot of use for a timer in ladder , In S41A the timer counts the time it takes for the tool change to complete and if it is not complete in a certain amount of time then it stops the tool change.

I also thing that the CW and CCW in lines S56A and S61A they control the spindle and not the arm.

John, watch my slow motion videos. The CW or CCW is just the motor direction. The cam controls the actual movement directions. The only difference I see is the sensor timing and the direction the arm moves when it is down swapping the tool. It looks like it will work either direction but in CCW mode it matched the video of someone else's machine.

So there is a cam system like in the photo and all the moves are made from one motor?

I don't know if you have this solved yet, but I have Mycenter 1 (probably older than yours), and the ATC arm motor is only controlled by a contactor. It can only go one speed and one direction.
