I'm working on connecting the remaining things to the Mesa board.
My 3 gears gearbox is controlled by 2 valves. So i'm assuming that:
00 = no gear
01 = first gear
10 = second gear
11 = third gear
I will have to test this and see if I have understand it correctly. I also believe you would always go to 00 every time you shift gear.
On one side of the machine I have this small electric motor. I'm not sure what function it has, does any of you have a clue? Drawings didn't help me much.
Best regards Kevin

Nice machine.
Could that motor run the central lube system pump?

Thank you, this is my first milling machine.
I suspect that to. I also have two more motors i'm not sure about, the first one is mounted on the bottom base of the machine. I think this one could be the build-in pump for flood cooling. The previous owner used an external cooling pump that stood beside the machine and I will use the same pump.
Then there is a third motor that I don't have located yet. I can hear it starting when engage the contactor but i'm not sure where its coming from. This would be easier tomorrow when I'm not alone in the workshop

Ok, turns out that I had misunderstood how the gears work. They are not hydraulic at all, instead they are controlled by an electromagnetic tooth clutch, one for each gear so it makes it easy to control. I just give them 24V and they engage.
The hydraulics is used to automaticly release the tool but that function has been removed. It is also used to counter balance the table.
I tested all the limit switches and estop today, feels much better to have that. The main power to the spindel and drives is also controlled by estop now.
