I think the only things I haven't seen a report about are:

1) Booting and running from the LiveCD (rather than the reinstall, which you have tried).
2) The software OpenGL idea (which the failure of tkemc indicates won't help)

Increasing the debug level might give more information, but might not:

DEBUG = 0x7FFFFFFF

Andy, I just mentioned that I ran his config so we all are refreshed that the config works.

I don't see what version your liveCD is?

Did you do the md5sum check of the file after downloading it?

Boot from the liveCD and try and run the latency test.

the live cd is the most recent version posted on the website.

I didnt do the md5sum check.

I booted from the live cd and was able to run the latency test but nothing happended. No numbers or changes on the initial window occured.

I tried to run the custom config on the live boot and the screen went black with some weird errors....

If booting from the liveCD and the latency test does nothing then either the CD is not good or something else is preventing the real time from running. Do you have another computer that you can boot up on the liveCD then run the latency test? That would eliminate the CD if that works. Also I would check the md5sum to make sure your download was good.

I'm pretty sure there is only so many things that can be wrong. I'm running your config on one of my computers so at least you know that is good.

Ah, you edited it. I was about to say that that pastebin showed the result of a re-run after a crash.

Bah!

We know that your config works (JT has run it).
We know that the LiveCD works (we have all run it).

I think it has to be your hardware.
What is the Motherboard / CPU / Graphics card?

Is there onboard graphics? Are you using a graphics card?

Do any of the example configs run?

The new version of EMC2 runs on an SMP-aware kernel. Did you say that your previous installation worked OK? I wonder if that is the problem?
(If it is, I am not sure what the solution is)
You could try fiddling with BIOS settings, perhaps Hyperthreading off.

Hardware: pastebin.com/U96kpRfB
I use an onboard graphics card.

I will try some of the other configs

Havent been able to run any of the prior configs.

I will try running on a different computer.

What is hyperthreading?

So I know this is strange, but I am able to run the emc cosftware, latency test, config file and all when I virtualize the OS. I am currently not ggetting any stepper movement though.

Now I get a new message:
