Could or would you elaborate about the 12Volt DC PC Motherboard you are using ? A 12 Volt DC board would save needing a PC power supply an it's mounting space.

The old Philips 432 PSU is optimised for the Phillips back plane adapter. I dont mind the little MeanWell HDR series din mount ones. They dont take much space. I might not even need 12V, if I put a Mini-ITX PSU up in the user modele with the PC.

Again I wrote before re -looking at your (great) You-Tube Maho conversion overview . That Phillips 432 has the vertical power supply but later versions used a smaller horizontal type ,mounted under the card cage which slid into base of card cage frame.
I think MeanWell makes a good product in the sense of long term reliably .
It's just me ,but a 12 volt DC mother Bd. and a 12 volt DC LCD display would have many advantages over using a desk top type computer power supply configuration .

I am using a JNF9C-2800 but I don't think that they exist any more.

However all these are some variant of 12V power:

(Some are 12V DC only, but one is 9-36V and another is 9-24V. 24V input is probably even more convenient than 12V input for our purposes). The quad ethernet daughter board on that same page might be interesting for Mesa card use.

You can use their board finder to find others 12V boards, and with PCI or parallel port too. www.mini-itx.com/products/boards

I wont be so space limited up in the user module, so it doesn't really bother me what PSU's the PC needs. Would be nice to get one with the 12V input, but then i would probably stumble across a monitor with a 19V need
I considered an Odroid h2+, but at €150+ram+SSD, I am too cheap. I can pick up a Mini-ITX board with ram and SSD from the local classifieds for under €50 any day of the week.

Fun story, I saw a mini-ITX board, loaded, for €15 in my district.
Wrote: " Hi, please call me on +664 xxxxxxx so I can arrange to see it."
Received " Piss off, you dont honestly think i am going to call some dubious foreign number do you!"

This is the largest and most common cell provider here, and I would have thought that anyone here is familiar with 664 not being Thailand.
