Troubles to get started with SD240 Retrofit

Sorry to bother you again guys. With the help of some people I have the axes and the spindle going now.
My current issue is the homing of the axes. They do not move to search for the home- switches, but just home "in place" so just where they stand. Obviously the axes pretend to "be homed" then, because softlimits are active. Signal joint.1.homed swaps immediately to yellow
If I unhome all axes I can move them where I want by jogging them- otherwise the + way is limited as it should be to 5/10mm +.
The hm2_7i80.0.gpio.026.in reacts in HAL-show on pushing the home switch manually and also the signal  "z-home-sw" swaps from red to yellow together with hm2_7i80.0.gpio.026.in.
The signal "z-is-homed" stays red .... if this is of any importance.

It is just that the search for the HOME signal does not take place. When trying to home an axis the axis motor is activated, stops immediately (does not move the axis) and sets the DRO value to 0.0
Any help appreciated
Thank you
Sigi

Does it help if I say that I am as puzzled as you? Those config files look like they should do homing.

Is there any chance you are not running the config you think you are?

It might be worth halscoping the home switch signals, perhaps there is noise on those that looks like valid home switch-on home-switch-off ? (very unlikely, though)

No, no real help image missing /media/kunena/emoticons/laughing.png- but we found the error:
Wrong is the term VELOCITY - needs to be VEL thats all, then it works
so
Wrong:
HOME_SEARCH_VELOCITY = 10
HOME_LATCH_VELOCITY = 0.5
HOME_FINAL_VELOCITY = 1.0

Correct:
HOME_SEARCH_VEL = 10
HOME_LATCH_VEL = 0.5
HOME_FINAL_VEL = 1.0

Thats all, then it works

Still struggeling a bit with the homing sequence.
In addition to the home switches I would like to use the encoder index to home. But the index is not found while homing.
So if I write "HOME_USE_INDEX = YES" in the INI, then the homing sequence does not end, even after 4 or 5 motor revolutions the index is not found. The index signal itsself is present- can see it in the oszy, it is also wired to the 7i80, so I assume it is not linked in the HAL correctly.

I hope someone can help me with this issue.

Thanks
Sigi.

Your HAL looks correct.
When you say "in the oszy" do you mean in the HAL oscilloscope , or on a physical one?

In the HAL oscilloscope try scoping both the index-enable signal and the hm2_7i80.0.encoder.00.input-index pin.

If index-enable is high then it should go low when the (short) input-index pulse is seen.
The index-enable pin should go high as soon as the home switch trips.

I checked the index signal with a physical oscilloscope (Hameg 303 in this case) and I can see the index signal "fly by"... it is very fast

Thank you Andy, I will follow your advice to try to observe both, index-enable signal and hm2_7i80.0.encoder.00.input-index pin in the HAL scope and see if the index-enable pin behaves as you describe it.

Thank you
Sigi
