Hi Jonasza,

I have done some retrofits on Biesse machines including two Biesse 346, the big mama's. Its not that difficult and a Rover 18 should be easy. Contact me if you want some help designing the retrofit. Id be glad to help.

Bob

/EDIT I only use mesa cards on my retrofits.

Hello, Bob,
I start to retrofit my old Rover. I tried to write you a message, but unsuccessfully. Could you write your contact email or write to me at..

Regards,
Jonas

Maybe someone knows about these 1181, 1191 and 1201 pins? This is enable pins?

I would say this is the back of the controller with the connectors. Those pins are more than likely enable pins out of the controller to the drives. You would have to check. Just trace them out.

Hi, I am also getting a biesse rover 18 delivered tomorrow. I had great success with Mesa / Biesse 336 retrofit. Will see how this project goes. Does anybody maybe have a scanned copy of the complete electrical schematics. Thanks

Seems like there are a lot of old Rovers being converted to LinuxCNC at the moment. I've also just brought a Rover 23 and am starting the journey to lcnc.

Still have not found a 346 !
I would like to find one to retrofit, but no luck.
The only one here is broken, i offered 9000 Euro for it but it did not work out. It had 3 big spindles, one of them could spin 270 degrees with the attached saw, ATC, and a bunch of drills.
Mechanicaly they are built like a tank.
The smal ones you guys are doing, here in barely working order are over 24000 Euro. Broken nothing under 7500.
Must move ! :)

Hi Peter

Is it possible to send me the schematics either email or upload to a shared folder (Dropbox, Google drive?) Not sure how the private function of linuxcnc forum works. Thanks
