Hi,

I'm sure Chris will be along and sort you out with pncconf. I've only tried it a couple of times when Chris was first writing it so much has changed since then and I know enough to just hand code my configuration based on a sample configuration. Did you know you can test/tune your servos in Axis?

I do know if your running an installed version the firmware is somewhere in the root directory structure. Open up the Synaptic Package Manager and search for linuxcnc and it should bring up the installed files.

that caused emc to fail to load line 20 of hal file (the first instance of the changed alias for setp)

where are you setting the values for P I D etc are they in your ini file ?

the entry then would be in your hal file
setp pid.x.Pgain [AXIS_0]P
setp pid.x.Igain [AXIS_0]I
setp pid.x.Dgain [AXIS_0]D

and the corrosponding entry in the ini file
under axis_0
P=1.0
I = 0.0
D=0.0

etc
