Andy, thanks for your response.

I did what you said and did this:

I do everything right, as cmorley says in pncconf I can see the inputs and outputs of "7i64" I read in the manual must encenderce the green "CR12" indicating that all is well but it does not, it stays on the red CR11.

Something I did not understand the cmorley response is this:

This will work as long as you Have the current bug fixes available from builbot or by compiling yourself.
If you do not you will Have to wait till the next bug fix release Which is supposed to come out soon.

can you try running this set if hal and ini files:

freeby.mesanet.com/7i77.zip

unzip them into (home)/linuxcnc/configs/hm2-servo

Also is the 7I64 jumpered properly? I think Default is USB interface

(make sure W1,W2,W3 are up/down/up)

"5i25" and "7i77" perfect work.

"5i25", "7i77", "7i64" works, linux smoothly opens in PnCConf, I can see the inputs and outputs of "7i64".

settings as I do?

The real question is:

as I view the inputs and outputs of the "7i64"?

everything seems fine but not see them.

as I mentioned before The default jumpering is for USB interface:
(W1,W2,W3 = UP,UP,UP)
for sserial/LinuxCNC you need 2.5 MBaud serial:
(W1,W2,W3 = UP.DOWN,UP)

I have not moved the jumpers this as manufactured

buy the serial cable and connect it to TB2 of "7i77"

right now you only the red LED "CR11"

The 7i64 pins should be listed here.
It seems that Hostmot2 isn't seeing the 7i64.

I think you might be being confused by the interaction between PNCConf and the rest of LinuxCNC.

PNCConf has no idea what smart-serial cards you have attached. It tries to set up the card you tell it is attached, whether or not that card is attached and working.

I think that PCW might have guessed the problem, is your 7i64 set with the jumpers for serial connection and for cable power?

W1 W2 W3
UP DOWN DOWN 1.25 MBAUD
UP DOWN UP 2.5 MBAUD FOR SSERIAL
UP UP DOWN 5.0 MBAUD
UP UP UP USB INTERFACE SELECTED

You need the jumpers W2 W3 W4 to be UP - DOWN - UP.
