if I connect pin11 to gnd the UP indicator on the qtplasmac interface should light up

No, pin 11 should be connected to plasmac.move-up. The up LED is connected to plasmac.led-up which can only be on if THC is active and and up signal is present on pin 11.

the lights in the show hall work perfectly, the THC sends the signal to the db25 card, activate the THC but the Z axis does not go up or down
I don't see where the problem comes from?
