I want a low cost bay trail (intel cpu on board ) mobo to run linuxcnc.
I want to have parallel port with low latency/jitter for software step generation and pci & pciE ports for a mesa card.
Any tested suggestion ?
thanks.

These are your choices (chips at least, every board manufacturer will have a different flavour)
ark.intel.com/products/codename/55844/Bay-Trail#@Desktop
The one that keeps coming up from PCWs testing is the J1900 based board.
Search J1900 and his user name and you will come up with his precise recommendations
Just beware exactly what 'Intel HD Graphics' equates to.
There are lots of unhappy tales about boards with GMA video chips, because they are still not supported well in Linux
regards

The Baytrail CPUs (J1800, J1900, J2900 etc) luckily don't have the dreaded
PowerVR GPUs=GMA3600 that have such poor Linux support, but instead
have standard Intel HD graphics like their bigger brothers.
Intel HD graphics is well supported by Linux.
The PowerVR GPUs are in the previous generation Cedartrail CPUs
(D2500,D2550,D2700,N2600,N2800) These will work but have lots of video issues
with linux

I can recommend the ASROCK Q1900B-ITX with a Gecko 540 on the latest Wheezy. No HDMI sound but every thing else is fine. Its even better now with a SSD.
I upgraded from a D525MW so I second PCW's post.

16000 with all open from bios usb lan serial etc
Under 7000 with all closed from bios.
Warning in inputs you must put pull up resistors to breakout board

At this point the AsRock Q1900M Pro3 seems to be a better option for LinuxCNC
