I have a 7i77

I'm trying to control a brother :P
the brother io runs through a relay board mostly (even if they don't touch a relay). most of it are inputs that go directly to things like limit switches, or the atc encoder or thermal sensors or buttons from the front panel.

the outputs are mostly to relays - about 7 in active use, but a dozen or so for spare m functions. the output to these relays is on the ground side - to the minus pin on the relay. some of the outputs go to solenoids (coolant, at blast).

for inputs, I guess we are just active low? so that's not an issue. for the solenoids, I can reverse them to be engaged on the +24 side as they are wired separate from the relay board. but the relays are not easily altered, they have diodes and some inter dependence (one relay engages another etc)

thanks

7i72 I think is indeed what I need!!!! I bought the 7i84 for extra inputs though. I don't think I can run both can I?

/me counts inputs

1 e stop
2 lim x+
3 lim x-
4 x home
5 lim y+
6 lim y-
7 y home
8 lim z+
9 lim z-
10 z home
11 atc home
12 atc area
13 start
14 hold
15 spindle temp
16 system temp
17 atc enc 1
18 atc enc 2
19 atc enc 3
20 atc enc 4
21 atc enc dec
22 mpg incr 1
23 mpg incr 10
24 mpg incr 100
25 mpg axis x
26 mpg axis y
27 mpg axis z
28 mpg axis a
29 mpg a+
30 mpg a-
31 mpg b+
32 mpg b-

add to that the alarms from the drives and from the safety board, and the torque monitor feedback from the drives and we do need the second io board 7i84 (we could wire the limits together etc, but I don't really want to).

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration

The easy (but not cheap) answer is probably:
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...83_88&product_id=115
Which can connect to the expansion port on the 7i77.
For more flexible wiring options, and even more money, there is:
store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...83_88&product_id=110

A much cheaper option is probably one or more of these:

The 5i25 has a second header. You can add a 7i74 to that and have eight more smart-serial cards. That should be plenty.

more money haha. well, more time really. from memory it takes a good week or more to get anything from him IF he has it on had. my 7i76 took months.
