Chris could you make the default min_ferror be around say 0.01 for servo's , then at least some movement or indication of servo movement would be known
rather than , give the impression of no output with an analog servo drive . cheers

ps. is the resolver listed for 2.4.7 or master ( or what is the trigger to show resolvers in pncconf )
although selecting resolver card pins , the resolver entrys show [AXIS0] ENCODER_SCALE
although i know it make no difference as to the names it would be good it it also changed

should the number of resolvers be able to be selected with encoders or is this all automatic
if it is it did not work with a 7i43-4 install , ( may of course work with others )

You would like the following error tolerance opened up - yes this makes sense. I actually think one axis is bigger then the rest.
resolvers are available in 2.5 / master - but you need the proper XML file which will be handmade or custom compiled (which you did I think)

Yes RESOLVER_SCALE in more intuitive and eventually i'm sure someone will have both encoders and resolvers - I'll look into it.

No currently the number of resolvers is set by the firmware. PNC doesn't allow you to deselect them.
You would have to deselect them on a daughter card bases (meaning 6 ? at a time)

I would like to know how well resolvers are currently supported by PNCconf. I cannot test it.
So thanks for the feedback I will look into these things :)

apart from the above undocumented features ( as JT like to call them ) , resolver support is looking good

Can someone explain how to properly set:

hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0-maxlim
hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0-minlim
hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0-scalemax

I might add sserial components need to be documented in the manpages and manual.

As soon as someone explains them I can add them to the manual but the man pages give me a headache... so Seb will have to do that.

The minlimit an maxlimit are bounds on the pn value (in this case the analog out value)
fullscalemax is the scale factor

These are by default set to the analog in or analog range (most likely in volts)

So for example on the 7I77 +-10V analog outputs, the default values are:

minlimit -10
maxlimit +10
maxfullscale 10

if you wanted to say scale the analog out of a channel to IPS for a velocity mode servo (say 24 IPS max)
you could set

minlimit -24
maxlimit +24
maxfullscale 24

if you wanted to scale the analog out of a channel to RPM for a 0 to 6000 RPM spindle with 0-10V control

you could set

minlimit 0
maxlimit 6000
maxfullscale 6000
(this would prevent unwanted negative output voltages from being set)

Peter
I'm playing with the 7i73 pendant card.
for analog input using a potentiometer what resistance is recommended?
I am interested in seeing if it works well for adjusting overrides for instance.
Thanks

Anything from 1K to 10K (between 3.3V and ground) should do
