3D printed a lot of drone propellers, mostly not good or to heavy, but finally found some that are very usable, so guy named Logan on youtube, link to his video and files is on my video
Lots of mishaps went on there ...

Nicely done. I like your thrust dyno. How well do the 3D printed rotors hold up?

You mean propellers?
Pretty damn well, none have disintegrated so far and mostly the smaller ones stay intact when bumping into something while spinning, it takes a bit of effort to break them, and that is mostly due to printing direction.
Also i do not use PLA, ABS, HIPS, PETG, and lately PA6 Nylon.
The main issue are sanding them properly will improve efficiency a lot, and balancing them is a must sometimes.
Give it a try, you will be surprised how good they can be, just keep layer line longitudinally.

I always think of them as rotor blades like a helicopter. That said I will have to give it another try.
The last time I tried it they looked terrible. Lets just say they needed a lot of sanding, to say nothing
about being balanced. I should have taken a picture of them as a what it shouldn't look like. LOL

1 piece props will require supports and that will require a lot of sanding and cleaning of all surfaces.
Multi piece ones are much easier and less cleaning and end up much more balanced.
A few nights back i had a light bulb moment, to print 1 piece props with no supports and at very low layer height so the next layer still has where to land, but i have yet to test how that ends up. I would start at 0.1mm for first test.

Have you tried PETG with PLA support? (easier said than done if you have a single extruder printer without an AMS)

All i have left is 5 of Voron 2.4R2 and a single Creality CR-5 PRO, so none have multi material support, and i am in no rush to modify any, but yes i have seen that and it is easy to do when the bottom is flat even on single extruder machines.
I never needed multi color, either, but yes sometimes i wish i had already modified one of the Voron's, maybe someday when i get old ... hmm older...

Then the big question is either an AMS type or multi extruders.

AMS easier to setup but lots of waste
Multi extruders are a real pain to setup and adjust, and this has to be done any time you change the nozzles. No waste though.
Knowing me, i will most probably go with multi extruders, i like to suffer!
