That shows something very basic wrong with the feedback
can you post the results of
uname -a
and
halcmd show all *tmax*
( run the last command when LinuxCNC has been running for at least a few minutes )
Thanks

That looks OK, the plot looks like feedback was lost for large amounts of time (10s of ms)
might be packet loss or some problem in the hal file. Can you do a similar plot
that includes the pin: hm2_7i96.0.packet-error
What PC hardware do you have?

I am struggling with the correct settings for the plots. I can't seem to catch the f-error as I have had to turn down the MAX_ACC~~ to 1000 otherwise it errors on homing. The plots were done by keyboard jogging.

Wow that is really weird, looks like there's a real time issue
notice the steps in the ferror (nearly vertical trace) only seem to occur at 25 ms intervals...

Clive, what is the source of your "encoder" signal again?

Not sure what you mean by this but here are the ini and hal files
Edit: I will look in halshow and see what it is connected to in the morning.

How would I do that please.
I could try a different PC and just move the config over.
