I suspect something you have done has improved the Ethernet latency enough that 1 MS is OK.

I also think that it mighty be difficult to eliminate following errors because of the mode
switching on the Z axis so widening the limits to say 1 mm would be a reasonable
solution

750,000 on the servo thread tmax leaves sufficient margin you reckon? That was only on a very short test mind.

I'm running up to 8ms and 16ms on (turn-key) machines at work, 2ms still sounds pretty good
