Maybe its a thermal issue on the host?

Meaning my LCNC computer may be getting too hot?

So can I assume that the info I provided above is within acceptable parameters and has narrowed things down to a possible thermal issue?

Thanks

I'm just guessing a thermal issue because of the behavior.

There really is nothing that should go bad with Ethernet
latency that should require a reboot to restore.

Alright. Thanks for your help.

I will blow the computer out and watch the temp and see if that helps.

I read the following in another thread that the OP was having the same error message.

Oops yes P gains should be 500 for a 2 ms servo thread

My servo thread is set to 2 ms but I did not change the P gains. Should I do this as well?

Yes (though its not going to affect the communications issues)

The error indicated by the LED is a watchdog bite,
This is cleared when LinuxCNC starts. Sounds like it bites
again due to latency issues.

I have done further testing and can confirm that when I get the "Error Finishing Read" error I can now close LCNC and reopen it and the error is cleared and I am able to use LCNC. Not sure exactly what I did to get it to work but I will take the win.

I do still get that error popping up randomly. It seems to happen most when the machine is idle and the machine toggled ON.

I have been fine tuning my axes and have noticed a chatter of sorts when I am jogging full length of the axes. It almost seems like it is missing steps or something. I have only noticed it on the X and Y axes so far as I have hey to fully test the Z. What should I be checking?

After reading some other threads I started with testing a different keyboard. That did not help. BUT I do notice that when I use the mouse and just click and hold the -/+ buttons on the Manual Control screen I do not notice as much stutter, if any. When I say "if any" that is because I do hear/feel something very slight occasionally when jogging. But I cannot tell if it is motor related or maybe coming from the ballscrew. It kinda sounds like it may be a tiny binding sound or something.

Not sure what to check or how at this point. Any thoughts?

Also, the keyboards I have seem to cause/exacerbate the stuttering issue. Are there any recommended keyboards that are known to work?

After reading more threads I ended up trying "xset -r" and that seemed to minimize/eliminate the stuttering when using the keyboard.

Can someone tell me how to disable this exactly?

Thanks

Check BIOS for "typematic rate settings", if there is nothing like it, change the PC.
I did change the PC as when the xset is active, buttons will not repeat when held pressed.
