I changed the w1,2,&3 jumpers to turn off USB and select different baud rates. I also tryed turning off power thru USB w9? And using external power. All gave me the same results.

Thanks
Cory

in your HAL file I see the 7i64 pin names are wrong the should have the name gpio in them eg:
hm2_5i23.0.7i64.0.0.gpio.00.in

Oh i see further down they are right.

I think I found the problem, we are sharing files, it seems to be some property of the file causing the problem.
From reading the error log, it appears that it can't open the file.

I tried making a new file and pasting the content from Corys hal file
and it couldn't read it either.
Then I tried the same but pasted in the contents of the known good framework file, same problem.
So I think there is some property about the file that maybe us LINUX
beginners don't know about.

I did this:

1. Start with the original framework hal file that we got that worked.
2. Test it to make sure it works.
3. Select all, delete everything in the file
4. Open Corys hal file select all, copy, then paste all into the the
(now empty) framework file.
5. Test it in EMC2

Axis opens no error message.

I tryied
down,up,up 921 KBaud
up,up,down 5 MBaud

Shouldn't the config line and bit file set the number and type of pins available when you look at the hal configurator?
If so it shouldn't it be a software issue?

For SSERIAL/SSLBP the baud rate must be 2.5 M Baud (UP DOWN UP)
all other jumpers left in default positions

you must have the 7I44 connected to the last 5I23 connector with the SVSS6_8 config
you should get red lights on the 7I64 when you power up and green lights when EMC starts

The 7i64s are not being found.
The first thing I would try would be to change num_sserials=3 to num_sserials=8 in the HAL file. Perhaps the 7i64s are not plugged in where you think they are.
Also, as Pete poined out, are you sure that the 7i44 is connected to the corrrect header?

Like I said,

1. Make sure that the 7I64 baud rates are set to 2.5 M baud UP/DOWN/UP) and that all other jumpers are in default positions (as shown in 7I64 manual)
2. Make sure the 7I44 is connected to the last 5I23 connector (IO 48..71)
3. At this point when you power up the system, the 7I64s should show red LEDs
4 Make sure your CAT5 cables have all 8 wires and are straight through cables,
NOT crossover cables (random cables that came with your router will likely not work)

I’m getting ready to adjust my servo drives for +-10V. I’m going to unhook the servos from the ball screws, apply 10V to the input and adjust to 1000rpm.

Is there a way inside or outside of emc to “manually” apply 10V out of the 7i48?
