Wittle ATC magazine. Probably going to mount in on the front frame though, on a small air powered pivot that just flops it out of the travel area.
I will develop a more advanced atc later.

Spindle arrives tomorrow. Little laser tool setter is already here.

There, moved to the front.

Tiny motor to spin the mag I guess. with some sensors. or encoder. the 7i96s has an open encoder input since the spindle doesn't have one. Hm. Gotta think about that. On an ethercat version if just use a 50w absolute servo I guess.

Machine partially rebuilt.
Did wind up finding that one of the linear blocks was damaged. order some new ones. I lapped and realigned everything, so things should be more precise now too - better than 0.001" over the whole work area pre compensation. Hopefully by next weekend its all running again with the new spindle and vacuum. woo.

Nice. I could not find where you have told us what spindle you are using. Please share.

Ah, yes, sorry. I got this used from tivoi :)

I'm gonna start reconfiguring my wiring and mesa cards tonight.

Also trying to map out my air system.

- spindle release/taper clean
- spindle nose bearing purge
- MQL coolant
- air blast
- laser tool setter clean out

Hmmm.

Wonder how to arrange that.

I tested the er tool holders and collets i got and the runout varies between 0 and 5 microns, so quite pleased with that.
