Ok just tested this with Mint 19.2 installed in a Virtual Machine to install a RT_PRREMPT kernel & Linuxcnc.

Import the key:
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key 60DE9F5F42214E43

Add the source:
sudo add-apt-repository 'deb http://cnc.beaglebrainz.net/mintcnc/ bionic 2.8-rtpreempt'

Finally install:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-image-4.19.106-rt44-lcnc linux-headers-4.19.106-rt44-lcnc
sudo apt-get install linuxcnc-uspace linuxcnc-uspace-dev linuxcnc-doc-en

Optionally:
linuxcnc-doc-en can be replaced by linuxcnc-doc-es linuxcnc-doc-fr

Reboot and you are done.

Any time Tommy, glad to be of help.
I found the MATE version of Debian really needs some extra packages installed to get a decent menu and the get the panel the way I wanted it.

Next, now the repo is setup, is an updated Mint ISO without all the bells & whistles, just the Linuxcnc packages.

Yeah, Debian lacks a lot of packages, that is strange since it is bigger than Mint.
So far i found out it lacks:
-open in terminal
-open as admin
-lspci < esential for us hardware tinkerers, needs installing pci-utils
-mesaflash < can not be installed with apt
-sensors-applet installed but it does not show up on the "add to panel" menu.
-boots slower than Mint
-it adds swap form other devices present during installation and later hangs searching for them for 90 seconds
-But it is lighter on resources while using it so it feels snappier !

There is now also a ready made ISO with Linux Mint 19.2 and Linuxcnc 2.8, so just download the ISO, write it to a USB using DD or win32imager, boot from USB, test as much as you like or install to a HDD/SSD.
Compliments of BeagleBrainz.
Thank you, Beagle.
