It’s working!!
youtube.com/shorts/F1UuheikuKw?feature=share

The only problem I have right now is the cheap plasma I have will not fire reliably! I’m hoping that adjusting the spark gap will help it work better.

now for some questions about plasmaC.
1. how do I erase/unload g-code? I can’t find any buttons?
2. How can I move the cutting to not start in 0.0.0 and offset it to a free spot on the plate? I thought that I could move the work coordinate system, but couldn’t find any button for that either.

Nice ! :)

You can not, this is not Mach3 !
Maybe QtPlasmaC has it but i never ever found a reason for that to exist.

Touch off
Besides Home button there is "touch off" use that for any axis to set the material 0.

I’m totally new with CNC so I haven’t tried any other controllers.
Now when I’m trying to learn I have used  the shapes to make test cuts, and I make small changes run it again. Then it should be nice to flush the g-code without the need for homing it again. But I guess that when I’m fully learned it will not be necessary.
I’m so happy right now to finally have the plasma table up and running! Couldn’t have made it without your fantastic support!! Thank you! *kudos*

You don't need to rehome the machine, once a session is all you need so long as there are no errors like lost teps etc.

You only need to touch off for each job although you don't even need to do that if the material is positioned at the same place.

@Ekholm,
Sorry for that, it is a feature exclusively asked here by Mach3 users...
Mach3 needs that feature as while a gcode file is opened by it, it can not be edited, while LinuxCNC/Linux do not have such constraints, editing files is possible even when they are in use by other programs.

phillc54 >> How i understand it work is that if i load G-code to the machine. There is no way to load a new project without closing PlasmaC. So for every new project i have to restart plasmaC and do the homing. If there was a way to clear the G-code without closing PlasmaC then i don´t need to re-home. This will be no problem, it was just me woundering how it works. T

You can load a new gcode file without needing to restart PlasmaC or home again. You may need to touch off again depending on the material position in relation to the job.

Ok nice! How do i do that? Will it automatically flush the G-code when loading new G-code. I have only tried the inbuild shapes to test the plasma, and i haven´t found a way to erase everything.

When you open a new file the old one is replaced. The same happens when you use the conversational shapes, a new one will replace the old one. There is no need to unload a file, in fact there is no way to unload a file as there is no need to.
