Think I have found the issue - Graphic card only support OpenGL to 2.1 not 3.2

Can someone please confirm this assumption?

Next question - Can I change the ui to fit a 1680 x 1050 monitor?

If you use the QtDragon interface, I suggest trying this option for your monitor.
Sitting in quarantine, I changed the qtdragon interface a little, maybe someone will be interested.
Download the files and put in home / linuxcnc / configs / sim.qtdragon, if you don’t like it just delete it and nothing will be broken. Size 1600x1000. A QtPyvcp mix of several 4-axis interfaces is available.

Probe Basic size 1920x1080 does not change. I have linuxcnc 2.8-pre- installed
-5585 and qtdragon works both the original and the boards. I like QtPyvcp more, but jogIncrement doesn’t work well and with VTC Plot is not suitable for large files. Good luck.

whats wrong with jog increment?

and yes probe basic out of the box is 1920x1080 only.

and yes confirmed your graphics card was the issue not allowing the latest opengl!

Task: JogIncrementWidget - jog X, Y, Z, JogAngularIncrementsWidget - jog A.
Distance clicked button axis. In Probe Basic, hold the axis button.
Works correctly in qtdragon.

Hazzy decided he liked it that way (I DO NOT like the hold button method personally and feel it SHOULD be click per distance), but there is a method to make it single click for full increment distance travel as well.. i don't remember the requirement for that functionality, but have asked Hazzy if he can enlighten me again. i don't use it on my machine as i have the pendant for my jogging moves so im not refreshed on the requirement.

Hey guys

I just installed probe basic but cannot open it because I apparently don't have the open GL 3.2 graphics drivers.

search the forum it looks like this is a common problem lol.

Do you guys know how to fix this and where to start?

I am only using a old computer at the moment. I think it has a intel I2 processor in it.

But so far it goes well and I can have lots and lots of stuff open and everything still works fine with no latency issues. So I would like to get this going of course.

Regards

Andrew

Unfortunately this problem is caused by old hardware, so there is not much that can be done from the software side, other than removing / replacing the components that require OpenGL 3.2.

If you are using a desktop PC I would recommend you get a cheap graphics card and use that. Almost any half way modern card will do, should be able to find one for next to nothing. There really isn't another other solution.

Sorry mate
