Hi All,
Has anyone posted any performance metrics for any of the ethernet boards?
I am working on something a bit crazy and I just wanted to get a baseline.
I would be interested in average UDP latency both ways. I know the servo thread is usually 1kHz, with some people going to 4kHz on actual servo systems, so I would assume that anything around the 100-200us should be good enough.
I expect that SPI PHY's, like the W5500, to struggle to get there.
I can provide some basic test code if people are interested.
Bogdan

thanks Tim
I have version 0.2.1 because the card is an NVEM v5.
I got this when flashing: C:\temp>pyocd flash ./remora-rt1052.bin --target mimxrt1050_quadspi
0001530 I Loading C:\temp\remora-rt1052.bin [load_cmd]
[======================================================= =] 100%
0038291 I Erased 196608 bytes (3 sectors), programmed 133632 bytes (522 pages), skipped 0 bytes (0 pages) at 3.55 kB/s [loader]
But now I can no longer connect to the network 10.10.10.10 -> linux shows that the cable is disconnected

Well I think it's very complicated to set up Linuxcnc. I still have this tftpy problem when using upload_config.py. I saw that at the same time the folders and files in Scott's video really no longer correspond.
If anyone has any info for a noob like me

Thanks, but you could at least mention wether some has posted any metrics. If you were so kind to roughly estimate where those post might be, I would be even more appreciative.
I have searched though the threads and couldn't find anything.
If you think this is not a relevant topic to discuss it, please let me know and I will create a new one.
