Post your torch_height.ini, torch_height.hal and torch_height_connections.hal

torch_height is your machine name right?

change the following to these values

[AXIS_Z]
MAX_LIMIT = 3.001

[JOINT_2]
HOME = 3.0
MAX_LIMIT = 3.001
HOME_OFFSET = 3.0

set your X axis in the centre of its travel
set your Y axis in the centre of its travel
set your Z axis so the torch tip is 3" above the slats

press the home button
jog the Z axis down to approx. level with the slats
press the touch off button
enter 0 for the touch off value
jog the Z axis to the top

from now on, every time you power your machine up you need to set all the axes up as above then press home.
you won't need to touch off again.

Edit: You should be able to use the Probe Test button to test probing.

OK did all that but it tells me the the bottom limit reached while probing

Was there anything you wanted to put for the min limit?

No, -0.4 should be good.

What thickness is the material you are probing down to?

Try some thicker stuff.

What is your probe height.

Just use probe test for the time being.

Edit: you may need to change BUTTON_2_CODE = probe-test 3 to BUTTON_2_CODE = probe-test 10

I just wondered....
You are not by chance using existing gcode from Mach3 that probes for the surface using gcode are you?

If you are, download the sheetcam post processor Phill uplloaded earlier today, rename it so it is a .scpost file, install the post file in sheetcam and rerun sheetcam on your part. The mach code and the plasmac code are NOT interchangeable.
