You have swapped the soft limit, but it is still hitting the physical switch. you need a way to swap the switch it is using from lower to upper. I never figured out how to do this before i sold the machines.

Hi guys,
After digging into this topic, I've tried to start 20BA150 (that is spindle drive and motor for Brother TC CNC machine)
Just for test that everything is clear how to use it, I connect 15+16 together and then apply 3V (from CR batt) between 1 and 2.
But "4" starts lightning after "enable" connection (15+16) and one LED that as I understand displays that drive is enabled (it goes off after disconnect 15/16) but "4" holds till power on
So, nothing going with the motor - it is not on hold and can be turned by hand (and I can see the encoder's value captured by 7i77)

Looks like this "4" is some error code. somewhere here I saw that this is some power issues, but I've checked twice the 3phase voltage and it's ok.

In case somebody knows how to investigate something - let me know.
Also is it not clear why I need to connect +24V and GND from 7i77 or this is not mandatory?

Thanks,
Anatolii.

Power up has to be timed correctly. You'll have to dig back in the thread, but my memory says you need control voltage first, then main power voltage. just a few MS apart.

thanks @ihavenofish !

at power on, only 3 LEDs say that internal voltages is ok, and "4" is off at start.

I've tried multiple times, and hope the time before connecting 15+16 was enought (>10sec, >30sec, >1min, any)
in case if 15/16 is connected before poweron - "4" begin to light at start.

So, after some investigating, I've started to check connections, and what I found near the main contactor for 20BA150 ?

and a bit close

and after trying to pull - yeah, Bingo!

After tightening them both back, the spindle drive stops displaying "4" and I can move forward.
Thanks, everyone.

sorry if I intrude on the discussion, but I have seen talk of Sanyo and I could not resist. since I have recovered some Sanyo rs2a03a0al0w00 drives from an old electrical panel but I have no motors ... I have set them single-phase with their software and they turn on regularly. I would like to know if there are compatible motor or if its originals are needed.
Thanks in advance

Get the R Setup app on sanyos website (you need to make a login)

It will tell you which motors work with your drive. So, I know my RS1A**** drives are compatible with P, Q, and R motors up to 1kw with incremental pulse encoders. They do NOT work with the older 65BA motors on the brother TC229.

Sadly, it turns out that those motors usually cost more used on ebay than brand new delta B3 kits. I did end up buying a 500w and 400w P5 motor but i do not know if i'll ever have a use for them. I intend to get another brother machine (TC-218) and i will just put 400w/750w delta B3 kits on it.
