Well, the wizard makes it cut badly. Something's up in the software I think.

I don't know. Maybe it is something to do with that last time I updated. It was around that time that it started doing this. I'm going to cut another one using the gcode you posted, just to be certain.

I just made that 2nd square from the gcode you posted Tommy and it's perfect again. No blatant ripping-off til I can cut good stuff too!

So any ideas what I should do now? Maybe uninstall and reinstall?

I just ran your code in a sim on both 2.8 and master and it appears to run OK.

Can you try a new one but without kerf width compensation.

EDIT: looking at your pen plot here forum.linuxcnc.org/plasma-laser/38918-my...ild?start=300#169847 it seems that it applied the compensation along the x axis cut rather than just the leadin.

Try increasing the leadin length. Pen plots are fine. Does the previe screen show the same shpe?

Asked the same question, it was ok in the preview.

I missed that Tom. It is good in previews here on sims as well, and it should as it is only a simple bit of code.

Baffling...

I definitely don't understand 99% of this stuff, but I do know that things typically don't change on their own. I'm still wondering if the update got corrupted somehow (would explain why nobody else is reporting these issues).

I guess anything is possible.

I just ran your code on my machine (with a pen) which is running 2.8 and it worked fine.

I will make a rip build of master and try that.
